Customs Broker with more than 40 years of experience
Founded in 1983, Gecotex is a foreign trade agency with more than 30 years of experience. The company began its journey in the early 80’s under the initiative of Jorge Soto and currently has a staff of more than 15 workers.
Gecotex has a dynamic and versatile workforce that allows it to optimize the import and export process. One of the company’s objectives is to maintain a high level of qualification of its employees through continuous training and adaptation to the new information technologies developed in the business sector.
Throughout its evolution, this international trade agency has been able to adapt to the passing of time and to the demands imposed by new regulations and the evolution of the global market. Gecotex has lived through the customs transition that the country has experienced, starting its business activity before Spain’s entry into the EEC, which currently allows the free movement of people, capital and goods.
Foreign trade within everyone's reach
Today, international trade has been democratized by globalization, allowing small and medium-sized companies to broaden their horizons and increase their profits by importing and exporting goods.
In 2023, Spain continues to stand out on the global stage, with exports reaching an all-time high of 320 million euros, representing solid growth of 7.8% over the previous year. This achievement highlights the competitiveness of the Spanish market and offers opportunities for companies of all sizes in international trade.
In this context of globalization and growing international trade, Gecotex has successfully adapted to the new challenges. The company focuses on foreign trade to Asian markets and outside the European Union, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the current economic outlook, where domestic growth exceeds that of other European countries such as France and Germany. Gecotex is committed to facilitating access to international trade for small and medium-sized companies.
Transparency and communication
Transparency and open communication are fundamental pillars of our relationship with our customers. We keep our customers informed at all times, providing them with full visibility on the status of their shipments and relevant customs developments.
In the digital area, we have begun distributing newsletters on important regulatory changes. In addition, we use LinkedIn to increase our presence, highlighting our specialization in customs brokerage and consulting. Through this platform, we explain our vision of offering a premium service.
Development of the human team
In terms of human resources, we continue to favor internal promotion and talent recruitment through partnerships with international business schools. After a six-month internship, our professionals participate in a robust training program that includes strategic English language development for the upcoming European centralized clearance and preparation for the customs representative exam, with continuous monitoring by their supervisors. In addition, we are working with a company specialized in coaching for the heads of each department, improving communication and fostering empathy with the needs of our clients.
Innovation and efficiency
In an increasingly digital world, Gecotex International incorporates cutting-edge technology to offer an even more efficient service. Our automated systems streamline processes, ensuring accurate and hassle-free customs clearance. We have developed a new application that, together with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), will facilitate the management of files, avoiding unnecessary repetitions in consultations. We set up monthly TEAMS meetings with your operational managers to ensure the effective implementation of these improvements and evaluate the impact through the reduction of incidents.
Post-dispatch management and document efficiency
We have a department specialized in post-dispatch management to ensure a detailed follow-up of incidents, complying with AEO certification and allowing a more effective internal audit. We are implementing a SOP that will allow us to process all documentation 15 days in advance, thus improving efficiency and time management in the face of increased customs controls.
